The Young and Emerging Planners (YEP) Committee has organized and developed new initiatives to help planners begin their careers, develop new skills, and connect with potential employers. Follow this page and join the YEP Facebook Group for updates, as the Committee is frequently updating and adding new resources.

Resume Book

To help connect potential employers with job-seeking planners, the YEP Committee has developed a resume book that allows candidates to showcase their work histories and professional skills. This resume book provides the opportunity for planners to post their resumes, skills, portfolios, and LinkedIn profiles in an easily searchable format, and acts as a candidate pool for potential employers. We encourage all potential employers to use this tool to aid with their candidate searches, and to help develop a pool of potential hires. For any questions, or for employers seeking to access candidate profiles, please contact young-emerging@apalosangeles.org.

To help maintain up-to-date information, all resumes are valid for one year after publishing. Submit your resume here!

Skills Trainings

The YEP Committee has organized a series of Planning Skills Bootcamps to help planners of all experience levels refine their skills and expand their portfolios, while earning CM credits. Bootcamps held and planned so far have covered Graphic Design Skills, Site Planning, Data Analysis for Planners, and many more topics! Follow APA Los Angeles and the YEP Facebook Group for updates.

Job Openings

To help young planners find the next step in their careers, the YEP Committee has curated a list of local planning firms, public sector employers, and organizations that frequently post job openings. This is not an exhaustive list, but one tool to help planners begin their job search, and expand the opportunities they consider.
