Job Description
The City of Pasadena’s Department of Transportation is seeking a Planning Manager (Transportation) to oversee the daily operations of the Multimodal Planning Division, which includes the Development Review Section and the Community Mobility Section. The Planning Manager (Transportation) will also assist in the oversight of the various projects and programs assigned to each section in addition to budget, personnel, and other management responsibilities as assigned.
Required Experience / Skills / Education
Minimum qualifications: Any combination of education and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance, such as:
- A bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field.
- Five years of increasingly responsible experience in transportation planning, development review, or community development AND
- At least two years of supervisory experience is required.
Desired qualifications:
- Master’s degree in planning or a closely related field.
- Seven years of increasingly responsible experience in transportation planning, development review, or community development.
- Experience working in the public sector.
- Membership in the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is highly preferred.
