Job Description

Ventura County invites applications for a Senior Planner (Planner IV) position with an excellent benefits package and salary range from $76,433.86 to $112,802.94 annually; salary dependent upon career experience and qualifications.

Required Experience / Skills / Education

This senior-level planning position performs duties such as: coordinating projects, defining problems, and alternative solutions; making oral presentations to public groups and governmental bodies; preparing written reports; and researching, compiling, synthesizing, analyzing, and interpreting information and data necessary to meet planning objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree in Urban Planning or a related field, have experience working as a project lead or project manager on land use planning projects, and have at least five years of progressively complex work experience in land-use planning.  

Application Instructions

Incumbents in this position may receive an educational incentive of 2.5% for an Associate degree, 3.5% for a Bachelor degree, or 5% for a post-graduate degree that is not required to work in the classification. The incumbent may also be eligible for bilingual incentive, depending on operational necessity and certification of skill.
