Job Description

 

The Southern California Association of Governments represents the country’s largest metropolitan planning organization. The six-county SCAG region includes Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura Counties, and 191 cities covering 38,000 square miles. The Executive Director reports directly to the Executive Committee (Regional Council Officers and Policy Committee Chairpersons of the Regional Council) and oversees an organization with 145 allocated positions and an annual budget in excess of $72.5 million.

 

Required Experience / Skills / Education

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with the ability to guide concepts into action and possess a keen and deep understanding of SCAG’s membership. This position requires significantly responsible managerial and administrative experience in regional, city, county, state or federal administration or planning with at least seven years in a highly responsible leadership and executive management capacity. An advanced degree is strongly preferred. This is a highly compensated executive level (at-will) position that will result in a mutually agreeable and negotiated employment agreement. Starting salary will be DOQ.
