Sustainability Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking an entry‐level or intermediate‐level analyst with 2‐4 years of experience and a strong sustainability focus to join the growing practice in our Los Angeles office. The position offers the opportunity to take on a range of project types, including LEED for Homes, LEED for Neighborhood Development, LEED for Cities, WELL, and EcoDistricts implementation and certification, climate action plans, adaptation strategy development, sustainability plans and analysis, and other community planning work across all offices. The candidate will contribute to technical analysis, policy writing, and community engagement.

The ideal candidate is a self‐starter and systems thinker that is able to see the ecological and sustainability potential of urban environments; has excellent analytical and writing skills; enjoys a casual and fun work environment; and is able to be flexible and remain organized and focused within the fast‐paced demands of consulting. Required Experience / Skills / Education

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Planning, Environmental Studies or Science, Ecology, Geography, Resource Management, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, or closely related field
  • Minimum of 1‐4 years of relevant work experience in the planning, environmental, and/or sustainability fields; significant proportion of the experience must be work completed in California
  • Understanding of quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and present results effectively. Proficient with Excel and other analytical tools
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite for graphic design, document layout, and diagram development
  • Experience with GIS and mapping tools, such as ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, Tableau, and/or Urban Footprint
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‐paced environment
  • Experience working with LEED, Enterprise Green Communities, Living Building Challenge, EcoDistricts, or other green building or sustainability rating and certification systems
  • Experience working on climate action plans, adaptation strategies, sustainability plans, and/or community plans (e.g., General Plans, Specific Plans)
  • Experience working on public engagement programs in diverse communities
  • System thinker
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
