Job Description

Pomona (pop. 149,058) established in 1888, sits on the eastern edge of Los Angeles County and is the seventh largest City in Los Angeles County. This diverse community balances historical architecture and preservation with higher education, arts and culture, which will be reflected in its opportunities for major infill and corridor revitalization efforts.  As such, the City seeks an Associate Planner who will be an integral part in performing, under general supervision, professional level work in the field of current and/or advance planning; who will provide planning information and assistance to developers and the public; and who will provide highly technical and responsible support to the Planning Manager.

Required Experience / Skills / Education

As a successful candidate, you will be enthusiastic, energetic and have a Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture or related field. In addition, you must have a minimum of three years of full-time professional planning experience at an Assistant Planner level. The City offers a competitive salary and generous benefit package including CalPERS health and retirement benefits.
