Our Monterey Park office is seeking a full-time Assistant Transportation Planner to assist senior staff with transportation study projects. The position requires a person with strong analytical, writing, communications and organizational skills to help in the preparation of transportation studies for public and private sector clients. A basic understanding of the principals, theory and practice of transportation planning is required. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, transportation related research, data collection, and preparing traffic impact analyses, parking studies, transit, freight and goods movement and corridor studies, and the principals of travel demand analysis, under the supervision of our senior transportation planning staff. Knowledge of traffic capacity analysis methods and software, traffic signalization, travel demand modeling, GIS & traffic micro-simulation tools are highly desirable.
Required Experience / Skills / Education
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in urban planning, transportation engineering, civil engineering, urban geography or related field; demonstration of strong communication (written and oral) skills and a strong work ethic; working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. 1 to 3 years of experience in technical analysis is required.
